Strebord Door Cores

The cost-effective alternative

Strebord manufactures highly effective 54mm one hour and 44mm half hour fire resistant door cores that can be veneered, laminated or painted with minimum preparation. They are very robust and manufactured to close tolerances to suit modern joinery processes. They can be cut to size and delivered to site for quick, easy installation. The door core materials are also suitable for use as partitioning components.

Leading the way in pre-tested door cores

All Strebord door cores are now covered by the Q-Mark Fire Door Scheme. The Q-Mark scheme is a third party accreditation scheme, designed to prove the worth of manufacturers products. This extension in cover means that every Strebord door core purchased has third party accreditation, giving all our customers complete peace of mind, as well as highlighting our continuing commitment to developing the Strebord brand.

The Strebord Door Core technical manual is available to all customers, both on-line on this site, and in hard copy. This fully comprehensive guide covers all aspects of use of Strebord door cores, from global assessment and acoustic details to recommended ironmongery and glazing manufacturers.

Test evidence from our ongoing testing programme allows the use of polyurethane-based glue-lines as well as urea-formaldehyde based products. In addition to this we have successfully tested a double door leaf doorset with 10 x 4 intumescent seals in the head as well as the two long edges - again reducing handling / manufacturing time and cost.
