Dual Orientation Fire Testing

Primary Test Evidence - Published For Your Convenience

Since a circular from MHCLG on 31st July 2018 relating to the safety of fire doors was issued, there has been a focus on providing test evidence for doorsets both opening into and away from the fire source. Whilst there have been long-standing evidence based reasons and published standards to suggest that this specifically excludes timber based doorsets, which is usually tested opening towards the furnace as it is the most onerous orientation, Falcon Panel Products have carried out fire tests in both orientations to support customers and specifiers who use our products.

The process that follows on from this testing is to have the tests referenced within certifiable Field of Application reports so that manufacturers can make use of the product development we have carried out within their own manufacture. Having always invested heavily in product development, particularly over the last 3 years, collating this evidence into certifiable scopes for our entire product range is a long task. With that in mind, to avoid the need for confidentiality arrangements when disclosing this primary test data, we have decided to publish a selection of Test Reports for your convenience and to support those standards and assessments which have up until recently been largely accepted.

The tests we have published includes both standard and not-so-standard, ambitious doorset configurations, one of which you can see for yourself in the video below.
