Doorsets Designed for Dual Scope Certification

Q Mark Third-Party Certification

Subscribers to Third-Party certification manufacturing schemes demonstrate a commitment to ensuring their products meet with the standards and performance criteria to which their products are subject to. Within the fire safety and security construction products industries, this commitment ensures consistency which in turn gives end users confidence in the products they are using.
Surveillance testing is an integral part of the Q Mark Fire & Security schemes. Whereas a test report gives details of one particular test conducted, certification is more than that. Certificated manufacturers have their products tested regularly to ensure that they are consistently manufacturing to the required standards. They are also subject to regular auditing where manufacturing processes are checked against documented procedures, records for incoming materials/component specifications are monitored and staff training is reviewed, ensuring personnel have the necessary skills to carry our their part in the production of the certificated product.

What is "Dual Scope"?

"Dual Scope" is the term commonly used to describe a certified product or range, that can be certificated under two schemes from the same body. The Falcon Panel Products Strebord & Stredor entrance door system can be certificated for both the Q Mark Fire Doors scheme and the Q Mark Enhanced Security scheme. A further Stredor entrance door system is offered which can be certificated for both the Certifire and Certisecure schemes.

How can I become certified for this entrance door system?

Doorset manufacturers who are already subscribed to both Q Mark schemes (or both the Certifire and Certisecure schemes) can simply contact us and we will issue you with a letter of authority to use the evidence we have generated. If you are up-to-date with your existing scheme requirements (i.e. audit tests and FPC surveillance audits), you should be able to issue the letter to your Q Mark client manager and request the inclusion on your scope.
Doorset manufacturers who are not already subscribed to both (or one of the) schemes, will need to make an application to either BM Trada or Warringtonfire as appropriate. There will be pre-certification audit and testing required before final certification is awarded, but the door technical team at Falcon can assist you with the application and provide on-site training for manufacturing. Contact us in the first instance and we will discuss your requirements.

But I subscribe to a different certification body/scheme?

We're working on it and will be updating you very soon...
